The meeting involved Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Akhil Arora, Principal Secretary (Budget) Debashish Prishti, Secretary (Expenditure) Naveen Jain, Secretary (Revenue) Kumarpal Gautam, and Director (Budget) Brijesh Kishore Sharma.

Over the last two months, the Finance Department has diligently worked on budget preparations. The team managing this endeavor includes Akhil Arora, Debashish Prishti, Naveen Jain, and Secretary Kumar Pal Gautam.

Diya Kumari will present the second budget under the Bhajan Lal government in the Assembly. To ensure thorough planning, meetings of the Budget Finalisation Committee were held at the Finance Department level. These gatherings evaluated proposals from various departments and scrutinized spending details from the previous budget.

Moreover, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma consulted with social organizations, business groups, youth, and women organizations to integrate their recommendations into the budget.

The government asserts that approximately 55 percent of the commitments made in the last budget have been fulfilled.

During the Governor's speech in the Assembly, CM Bhajan Lal Sharma mentioned that his administration had made 1,272 announcements, of which 297 have been completed, while administrative and financial approvals have been granted for 488 announcements.

The upcoming budget is expected to focus heavily on farmers, according to sources.

The state government aims to broaden the interest-free crop loan scheme, with cooperative banks poised to enhance their offerings to support this initiative. Additionally, these banks may extend both short-term and long-term lending options for farmers. The government might also allocate a separate budget for cooperative and land development banks.

Furthermore, officials hinted at a potentially significant announcement concerning the provision of daytime electricity for irrigation, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity.
