Jaipur, Jan 5 (NationPress) The consequences of the cold wave and extreme cold are becoming more pronounced across Rajasthan, according to government officials on Monday.
Following Baran district, school holidays have now been extended in three additional districts: Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Bundi due to the ongoing frigid temperatures.
As per orders from the district administration, both government and private schools in Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Bundi have declared temporary closures for students in primary classes.
According to an order issued on Monday by District Collector Khushal Yadav, all schools in the district will remain closed for students from Classes 1 to 8 from January 6 to 10.
This holiday is only applicable to students; however, classes 9 to 12 will proceed as scheduled.
School staff are required to be present and adhere to departmental guidelines.
In response to the cold wave, District Collector Manju has mandated the closure of all government and private schools for nursery to Class 5 from January 6 to 12.
Classes for students in grades 6 to 12 will operate under revised timings, running from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Bundi district has also announced a two-day school holiday due to the ongoing cold conditions.
The Meteorological Department has cautioned that severe cold weather will persist for the following week.
A cold wave alert has been issued for Tuesday in Alwar, Jaipur, Churu, Sikar, and Jhunjhunu, while a yellow alert is set for January 7–8, which includes Churu, Sikar, Jhunjhunu, Alwar, and Jaipur.
Authorities urge parents and schools to remain vigilant and adhere to official guidelines to safeguard students.
