Rajasthan's Initiatives to Emerge as an Energy-Surplus State: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma

Jaipur, Dec 9 (NationPress) A session featuring leading industry figures and experts was conducted on Monday focusing on ‘Transition towards a Sustainable Energy Economy’ as part of the 'Rising Rajasthan' Global Investment Summit 2024.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma; Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New and Renewable Energy, and Heera Lal Nagar, Rajasthan Energy Minister of State for Energy, were present at the session.
During his speech, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated: "Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rajasthan is implementing crucial policy measures to ensure that the state not only fulfills the energy requirements of its 80 million residents but also becomes an energy-surplus state capable of supplying clean energy to other regions."
Prahlad Joshi, Minister of New and Renewable Energy, expressed: "On the auspicious and foundation-laying platform of ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024, I am pleased to announce that the central government has sanctioned a new solar park in Rajasthan with a capacity of 2,000 MW, where the Centre will cover 30% of the expenses."
Heera Lal Nagar, Rajasthan Energy Minister, remarked: "Under the guidance of CM Bhajan Lal Sharma, the state government is undertaking all necessary actions to satisfy the energy demands of both current and future generations. Rajasthan has achieved remarkable advancements in the domain of new and renewable energy."
Alok, Additional Chief Secretary, Energy, government of Rajasthan, mentioned: "Through the recently unveiled Integrated Clean Energy Policy, the state aims to elevate its renewable energy (RE) capacity to 125 GW by 2030, alongside creating 1 million jobs in the sector. Innovative renewable energy solutions, including energy storage, grid modernization, green hydrogen, and green ammonia, will facilitate the state's transition to clean and sustainable energy."
With a bold aim to establish a renewable energy capacity of 125 GW by 2030, Rajasthan is poised to lead India's green energy revolution, reaffirming its dedication to sustainability and innovation, as noted in a statement.
The statement further highlighted that the session explored significant areas such as enhancing the adoption of clean technology, regulatory and policy support for the sector, and the potential of public-private partnerships in accelerating the transition to clean energy, among others.
The panelists also underscored the importance of the renewable energy sector as a job multiplier, offering substantial potential for job creation.
