Vasundhara Raje Advocates Loyalty Over Opportunism in BJP
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Jaipur, April 6 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Vasundhara Raje, emphasized the critical role of ideological loyalty within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, asserting that organizational roles should be awarded to committed members rather than opportunists. During her address to party members at the BJP’s Foundation Day celebration in Jaipur, Raje pointed out that while party-switching occurs frequently in politics, it does not necessarily signify a shift in true beliefs.
“Politics has its fluctuations. Many individuals may change parties, but their core values often remain unchanged,” she stated.
She further recognized that some individuals genuinely adapt when they join a new party. “There are those who sincerely accept the party and blend in seamlessly, like sugar dissolving in milk,” she noted. Raje stressed that leaders and members who are devoted to the party’s fundamental ideology should be prioritized and honored.
“The real issue is those who are self-centered and neglect the party’s future,” she warned, highlighting a risk of self-serving behavior within political spheres.
Commenting on leaders who often shift allegiances, she acknowledged that while some have achieved electoral success, organizational roles should be designated for those who have consistently supported the party. Raje highlighted the significance of commitment, urging members not to pursue posts solely for personal gain.
“Avoid working just to attain a position. If you act with integrity and dedication, opportunities will come your way naturally,” she advised.
She also reminisced about a historical moment when senior BJP figures Atal Bihari Vajpayee and L.K. Advani had once nominated her mother, Vijaya Raje Scindia, for party leadership, which she declined. Raje’s statements are perceived as a robust reminder regarding internal discipline, loyalty, and organizational integrity within the party, as noted by party members.
