New Delhi, June 23 (NationPress) On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh unveiled a specially selected compilation of 51 speeches by President Droupadi Murmu, available in both Hindi and English, including an e-version. He characterized her vision as a beacon guiding the nation towards building a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Titled ‘Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II)’, this book provides deep insights into the vision, philosophy, and priorities of the President during her second year in office (August 2023 - July 2024).
Rajnath Singh emphasized that this collection encompasses speeches that cover a range of topics, including addresses to the nation, university talks, innovation, the role of women in national development, equality, and cultural heritage. He described it as the essence of the government's commitment to transforming India into a developed nation by 2047.
“This book will serve as a guiding light, promoting progressive thoughts while honoring our rich heritage. President Droupadi Murmu understands the significance of diversity and empathizes with the marginalized. This collection embodies the spirit of equality,” he remarked.
The event at Rashtrapati Bhavan was also attended by Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan.
Rajnath Singh further noted that the book amalgamates the President's insights across various domains—from civilization and culture to religion, science, art, literature, education, health, and future aspirations.
He highlighted this inclusivity as a reflection of India's character, which could prove beneficial for future generations.
Rajnath Singh lauded Murmu as a prime example of women-led development in India, mentioning that under her leadership, the Armed Forces successfully executed the historic Operation Sindoor, achieving all objectives and instilling fear in terrorists.
Vaishnaw referred to ‘Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II)’ as a means of grasping current issues from the perspective of the country's ‘First Citizen’ and expressed hope that it would impart the President's ideas for public welfare to future generations.
He recalled an inspiring moment from Murmu’s life, when she visited the National Institute for the Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities in Dehradun on her birthday, June 20, and was deeply touched by the performance of visually impaired children.
“Her sensitivity, simplicity, and commitment to serving the people are sources of inspiration for everyone,” he added.
