Quetta, Jan 23 (NationPress) A prominent human rights organization has raised serious concerns regarding the purported enforced disappearance of a minor by Pakistani forces in Balochistan, amid escalating violence against civilians in the region.

According to Paank, the Human Rights Department of the Baloch National Movement, on the night of January 13, a substantial group of Pakistani forces stormed the residence of Lal Jan, a local from Buleda tehsil in Kech district, abducting his minor son, Talib Hussain.

Local sources indicate that prior to his disappearance, Talib Hussain—who was also engaged in farming—suffered physical abuse at the hands of Pakistan-backed militias and received multiple death threats. Following the raid, he was moved to an undisclosed location, and his current status remains unknown.

“The forced disappearance of Talib Hussain has plunged his family into deep fear and distress, particularly affecting women and children who were traumatized during the incident,” stated Paank.

On Thursday, another rights organization, Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ), disclosed that three additional civilians had been forcibly disappeared in Balochistan by Pakistani forces.

These recent events occur against the backdrop of an alarming increase in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings in the province.

Condemning these acts, BVJ reported that on January 20, Pakistani security personnel abducted Farhad Baloch, a resident of the Rab e Pat Joxan area in Kharan district. His family remains in the dark about his whereabouts, causing significant distress.

Furthermore, the rights organization cited local reports indicating that a 20-year-old student, Rahimdil, was taken on January 18 from Gowand Sareen area in Kech by members of the Frontier Corps (FC) and Military Intelligence (MI).

Another victim, Hasnain Qambrani, a student from Killi Qambrani Road in Quetta, was abducted from his home on January 20 by the Counter Terrorism Department of Pakistan.

Highlighting the atrocities faced by civilians in Balochistan, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) reported on Thursday that Noman, a resident of Mand area in Kech, was extrajudicially executed following a forced disappearance that lasted nearly two months. His body was discovered in the Tump region of Kech, showing clear signs of severe torture and gunfire.

According to BYC, Noman was unlawfully detained by the Pakistani army and Frontier Constabulary (FC) from a picnic spot on November 19, 2025. His friend Ismail was also killed at the scene.

Point of View

It is imperative to approach the situation with a commitment to truth and justice. The enforced disappearance of civilians, especially minors, represents a severe breach of human rights. It is crucial to amplify the voices of those affected and demand accountability from authorities to ensure the safety and dignity of every individual in Balochistan.
