Russia and Ukraine Exchange Accusations Over IAEA Vehicle Attack

Moscow, Dec 11 (NationPress) On Wednesday, Russia asserted that Ukraine executed drone strikes against a vehicle belonging to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), while Ukraine previously attributed the incident to Russian military forces.

One of the IAEA's vehicles, which was en route to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant for a scheduled staff rotation, sustained considerable damage during the drone assaults on Tuesday, although the personnel onboard remained unharmed, as reported by the United Nations (UN) nuclear regulatory body.

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi denounced the strike as "absolutely unacceptable".

The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed strong condemnation on Wednesday regarding the provocative and reckless actions of the Kyiv regime, which they claimed endanger both nuclear facilities and human lives.

The ministry urged the United States, Britain, and their allies to cease support for the Kiev regime and to hold those accountable for the provocations, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Telegram on Tuesday that "a Russian FPV drone attacked a convoy of the IAEA," asserting that the intentional assault illustrated Moscow's blatant disregard for international law and safety.
