Bhilwara (Rajasthan), Oct 8 (NationPress) Congress National General Secretary Sachin Pilot voiced his strong disapproval on Wednesday regarding the unacceptable behavior directed at the Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai, labeling it as "an incredibly regrettable incident."
"There can be nothing more tragic than this," he expressed.
While addressing the press, Pilot remarked that over the past 11 years, a climate of confrontation and antagonism has been intentionally fostered within the nation. "Efforts are being made to instill hatred among the populace. The individuals who mistreated the CJI are fueled by ill-will. Such violence has no place in our society," he stated.
On the topic of the Bihar Assembly elections, Pilot commented that although Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is a seasoned politician, he has held onto power for more than 20 years, frequently shifting alliances—from the RJD to the BJP, and back.
"His politics of opportunism has adversely affected the citizens of Bihar. The people are now yearning for change, and this time, change is inevitable," he asserted.
Pilot made these statements during an event at Mahila Ashram Girls College, located in Pathik Nagar, Bhilwara, where statues of former Chief Minister and ex-Governor of Assam Shiv Charan Mathur and his wife, freedom fighter Sushila Devi Mathur, were inaugurated. He attended the event as the chief guest.
During the ceremony, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Pilot together unveiled the statues of Shiv Charan Mathur and Sushila Devi Mathur.
While addressing attendees, Pilot highlighted the deterioration of ethics in the current political arena, both nationally and at the state level. "Any organization, party, or government can operate effectively only when it honors fundamental principles, and its leaders embody them," he noted.
"Simply delivering speeches or sermons does not facilitate transformation, nor does it guide us towards the truth. Real change is achievable only when our deeds reflect our declarations. Without individuals of integrity within our institutions and politics, authentic progress remains an elusive goal."
Pilot also lauded the leadership of Shiv Charan Mathur, recognizing his contributions to women's education and industrial development. He commended Vandana Mathur, the institution's Secretary, and Vibha Mathur, the Director, for continuing his legacy. "Delivering quality education to the future generation is the most significant homage we can offer to his memory," he concluded.
