New Delhi, April 10 (NationPress) Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev has expressed profound respect for Lord Mahavir during his Jayanti, recognizing him as a timeless embodiment of inner striving and spiritual transcendence.
In a post shared on X on Thursday, Sadhguru praised the 24th Tirthankara of Jainism as someone who grasped the deeper essence of life from a young age.
“Mahavir – a Prince who understood early that it is not domination but compassion that fosters an inclusive life. An epitome of striving and transcendence who continues to be greatly honored more than two millennia after his existence,” the founder of the Isha Foundation stated in the post, including the hashtag #MahavirJayanti.
Mahavir Jayanti, a significant festival in Jainism, celebrates the birth of Lord Mahavir, believed to have been born in 599 BC.
He is revered for his teachings on non-violence (ahimsa), truth (satya), celibacy (brahmacharya), non-possessiveness (aparigraha), and non-stealing (asteya), which continue to guide followers today.

Earlier, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed their greetings to the nation on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti.
On X, President Murmu stated, "On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all citizens, especially the Jain community. The embodiment of non-violence and peace, Lord Mahavir illuminated the path of truth and renunciation for humanity."
