New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) – The vibrant three-day cultural and literary festival, 'Shabdotsav 2026', celebrating ‘Bharat Abhyudaya’, has officially commenced at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the heart of the national capital on Friday.
The ceremony was marked by the ceremonial lighting of a lamp attended by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra, Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, among other esteemed dignitaries.
The festival kicked off with the soulful rendition of Vande Mataram.
'Shabdotsav 2026' aims to illuminate the nation’s cultural, literary, and ideological consciousness, featuring a host of prominent thinkers and speakers who will share their insights throughout the three-day gathering.
Organized by Suruchi Prakashan in partnership with the Hindi Academy, this festival promises to showcase over 100 authors, filmmakers, thinkers, alongside cultural performances, youth-centric events, engaging book discussions, and an array of Bharat-inspired cuisine.
Notable speakers such as National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar will also grace the event.
Prior to the festival, Minister Kapil Mishra shared his enthusiasm on X, stating, “The ideology of those who wish to fragment our nation will no longer prevail.”
In Hindi, he expressed, “Lord Nataraja, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.. These are our heroes, and this is our festival 'Shabdotsav'...”
Just days ago, the Art and Culture Minister announced that this grand festival will welcome students from nearly 40 universities across the Delhi-NCR region.
The gathering is expected to feature an array of book launches and cultural shows, including Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Bhajan Sandhya, Kavi Sammelan, and the Somnath Jyotirlinga Darshan.
The festival poster was previously unveiled by Delhi CM Rekha Gupta along with other cabinet ministers, including Kapil Mishra and Ashish Sood.
“This three-day cultural and literary festival, from January 2 to 4, will unite literature, culture, and intellectual discourse like never before,” claims the Shabdotsav official portal.
