New Delhi, Jan 1 (NationPress) The kick-off ceremony of “Delhi Shabdotsav 2026”, a three-day festival celebrating Indian literature and culture, is set to take place at National Stadium on Friday, with the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, as confirmed by an official.

On December 29, following the event's poster unveiling, CM Gupta received updates from Art and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra regarding the festival's agenda and promotional activities.

CM Gupta shared on X, “After the unveiling of the ‘Delhi Shabdotsav’ poster, the organizing committee convened under the guidance of my cabinet colleague Shri @KapilMishra_IND ji.”

From January 2 to 4, renowned thinkers, authors, and speakers from across the nation will gather for ‘Delhi Shabdotsav’, an initiative by the Delhi Government and Suruchi Prakashan at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium. The festival will include book launches, cultural showcases, and a poets’ conclave, as noted by the Chief Minister on X.

During this event, CM Gupta will be joined by her cabinet colleague Ashish Sood, MLAs Abhay Verma and Rajkumar Bhatia, along with other esteemed guests.

Mishra informed reporters that the Art and Culture Department of the Delhi government, in collaboration with a publishing house, is set to host the nation’s largest literary and cultural festival.

“The Delhi Government is orchestrating the country’s largest cultural and literary festival on January 2, 3, and 4, which will be held annually under the Ministry of Culture and branded as ‘Delhi Shabdotsav’,” Mishra stated.

The festival promises to feature over 100 notable speakers, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Sunil Ambekar, Manmohan Vaidya, and Sachchidanand Joshi, in addition to more than 40 book releases, six cultural performances, and two poets’ gatherings.

Mishra highlighted that students from nearly 40 universities in the Delhi NCR region will actively participate in the cultural festivities.

He mentioned that the event will showcase programs such as Bharatnatyam, Kathak, Bhajan Sandhya, Kavi Sammelan, and Somnath Jyotirlinga Darshan.

The festival will be inaugurated by the Delhi Chief Minister, with the attendance of Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami and Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma.
