Mumbai, Nov 27 (NationPress) Actor Shekhar Suman recently took to his social media platform to honor the legendary superstar Dharmendra. In a video shared by Shekhar, he fondly reminisces about the late actor.
In the video, he expressed, “The primary distinction between cricket and life is that in cricket, sometimes you remain not out. Yet, in life’s innings, everyone must eventually leave. When someone departs, it brings immense sorrow. This sadness is warranted because that individual held a profound bond with you. There’s grief for their absence and for the loss itself.”
He continued, “However, it’s essential to reflect that for those we cherish, we don’t wish to witness them in a condition we never envisioned. I’m speaking about Dharamji. A person with a heart as pure as his, a jovial spirit; he was an unmatched personality. It’s said that a person’s inner beauty radiates on their face, and that was undeniably true for Dharamji.”
Further elaborating on the late icon and his remarkable character, Shekhar mentioned, “He was an extraordinary individual, sincere and genuine. His inner self reflected in his outer persona. He possessed a rare blend—a stunning visage coupled with an impressive physique. This combination is seldom seen; typically, one excels in either appearance or form, but not both. Dharamji was as remarkable a human being as he was an actor. He emanated love and received it in abundance, with no one ever criticizing him.”
Shekhar went on to say, “Regarding his popularity, from 1960 until his last movie, Rocky Aur Rani, his stardom remained unassailable. No one could rival his fame. It’s astonishing how he had no adversaries. How can someone be such a wonderful person? Every encounter with him was met with a smile, warmth, and affection. We’ve observed him for countless years, and witnessing him in his final days was unbearable.” Shekhar emphasized the importance of remembering the superstar: “In cricket, when a player concludes a remarkable innings, the entire stadium rises to applaud as he walks back. Dharamji played an extraordinary innings. Though we mourn his departure, we must salute the magnificent life he led. ‘Wah, Dharamji, wah. What an incredible game you played.’”
He remarked, “None of us wished to see him in a state where he was frail, his voice shaky, unsteady on his feet, isolated. Did you want to see Dharamji like that? Absolutely not. It’s preferable for someone to depart before reaching such a condition. One remarkable aspect of actors is that while they may leave their earthly forms, through their works and the characters they portrayed, they remain immortal. Forever. We desired to remember Dharamji as vibrant, youthful, and full of life, not in his final state.”
Reflecting upon the exemplary life led by the late superstar, Suman stated, “He lived a clean, beautiful life, an admirable journey. We should be thankful for that. If anyone should live life, it should be akin to his. So, Dharamji, we honor you as a role model. We should all aspire to be like you—though no one can replicate your essence. Your name—Dharmendra—will forever illuminate the skies like the sun and moon.”
Shekhar Suman captioned the video: “My heartfelt tribute to the man who imparted lessons on love and humanity, who showed us how to live life grandly, with a heart as pure as 24-carat gold. The magnificent, generous, and compassionate being. An Adonis with an infectious smile that touched billions. An unparalleled actor and the greatest star, who will forever reside in our hearts... Dharmendra.
For those unaware, Dharmendra passed away on November 24, at the age of 89. Today, a prayer meeting for the late superstar was organized by the Deol family in Mumbai.
In terms of his professional career, Dharmendra will be featured posthumously in the film 'Ikkis', directed by acclaimed director Sriram Raghavan, alongside Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia.
