Mumbai, Nov 27 (NationPress) Actor Shekhar Suman recently took to his social media platforms to honor the legendary superstar Dharmendra. In a heartfelt video shared by Shekhar, he reminisced about the late actor.

In his message, he expressed, “The only distinction between cricket and life is that in cricket, sometimes you are not out. However, in the innings of life, everyone must be out eventually. When a person departs, it brings immense sorrow. It should, because that individual holds a deep connection with you. There’s grief for their departure and for the loss itself.”

He continued, “Yet, the key point to remember is that we don’t wish to see those we love in a condition we never envisioned. I am referring to Dharamji. A person with such a warm heart and a joyous spirit, he embodied an extraordinary persona. It’s said that when someone possesses a pure and beautiful heart, it radiates from their face. This was undeniably true for Dharamji.

Shekhar further elaborated on the late icon’s remarkable character, stating, “He was one of a kind, genuine and sincere. What he felt inside mirrored on the outside. He possessed a rare blend—a stunning face and an impressive physique. This combination is seldom found; typically, one is favored over the other. Dharamji was as remarkable a person as he was an actor. He gave immense love and received even more in return. Criticism was never directed at him.”

“Regarding his fame, from the 1960s until his last film, Rocky Aur Rani, his status remained unshakable. No one could challenge his stardom. It’s astonishing that Dharamji faced no competitors. How could anyone be so kind? He greeted everyone with a smile, warmth, and a hug. We have watched him throughout the years. Witnessing his condition towards the end was unbearable,” he remarked. Shekhar emphasized the importance of honoring the superstar, stating, “In cricket, when someone concludes an exceptional innings, even if they are out and walking back to the pavilion, the entire stadium rises to applaud them. Dharamji played a magnificent innings. While we mourn his passing, we should all stand and salute the incredible life he lived. 'Wah, Dharamji, wah. What a game you played.'”

He added, “None of us wanted to see him in a state of stiffness, his voice quaking, struggling to stand, or feeling isolated. Would you have desired to see Dharamji like that? No. It’s better for someone to depart before reaching such a condition. One remarkable trait of actors is that they may leave their physical forms, but through their performances and characters, they continue to live on forever. We wish to remember Dharamji as the vibrant, youthful individual he always was, not in that final state.”

Reflecting on the admirable life led by the late superstar, Suman remarked, “He lived a clean, beautiful, exemplary life. His innings was both long and commendable. We should express gratitude for that. If someone were to live, it should be in the manner he did. So, Dharamji, we salute you as a role model. We should aspire to be like you—though no one ever could. No one can replicate your essence, but we will strive. Thank you from the depths of our hearts for the inspiration and encouragement. As long as this world exists, your name—Dharmendra—will shine in the sky like the sun and the moon.”

Sadly, Dharmendra passed away on November 24, at the age of 89. Today, on November 27, a prayer meet for the late superstar has been organized by the Deol family in Mumbai.

Professionally, Dharmendra will be seen posthumously in the film 'Ikkis', directed by the acclaimed Sriram Raghavan. It also features Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia.
