In a touching post featuring an old photograph of Alka, Shekhar wrote, 'My love story with Alka is an ethereal and eternal journey. From the moment I first laid eyes on her, I knew she was unlike anyone else in the world. She embodies qualities that are truly angelic—vulnerability, shyness, a demure nature, soft-spokenness, dignity, talent, and, without a doubt, stunning beauty. One word to describe her: breathtaking. Jaane bahar tum kisi shayar ka khwab ho, muah! I will love you until the end of time. (sic)'

In this heartfelt message, the actor highlights the genuine and everlasting bond he shares with his wife, describing her as angelic and dignified. Their love story began in their college days in Delhi, evolving from friendship to romance. They exchanged vows in 1983 during a cozy ceremony surrounded by close friends and family.

For those unfamiliar, Shekhar Suman and Alka are proud parents of two children, Ayush and Adhyayan Suman. Tragically, they lost their eldest son, Ayush, in an accident—a loss that Suman admits can never truly be filled.

Their younger son, Adhyayan Suman, has followed in his father's footsteps, making a name for himself in Bollywood. On the professional front, Shekhar Suman was recently featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, where he received significant acclaim for his role as Nawab Zulfiqar Ahmad.

Shekhar's filmography includes notable works such as Utsav, Anubhav, and Tridev, and he is celebrated as one of the pioneering talk show hosts on Indian television.

His iconic television show, Dekh Bhai Dekh, followed by the talk show Movers and Shakers, established him as a household name during the 90s.
