New Delhi, Aug 6 (NationPress) Shiv Sena has pledged its unconditional support to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for the forthcoming Vice Presidential election, as announced by Shiv Sena Chief and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde during his visit to New Delhi.
Shinde confirmed that Shiv Sena stands as one of the oldest and most trusted allies of the NDA.
Accompanied by all Shiv Sena MPs, he met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.
Shinde noted that Amit Shah has become the longest-serving Home Minister in India’s history, completing an uninterrupted term of 2,258 days.
“We met him to express our heartfelt congratulations,” Shinde stated.
He praised Shah’s decisive leadership, citing significant achievements from the abrogation of Article 370—fulfilling the vision of Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray—to spearheading ‘Operation Mahadev’ against terrorism and diligently addressing Naxalism, showcasing unwavering commitment and visionary leadership.
“His contributions span from cooperative development to national security, and they have been exemplary,” he added.
Shinde reaffirmed the historic bond between Shiv Sena and BJP, stating, “Our alliance predates the formation of the NDA, and we are celebrating 25 years of this enduring partnership.”
He highlighted Shrikant Shinde, MP, attending the NDA parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday.
“Just as the MahaYuti won the Assembly elections through the people’s mandate, we will also contest the upcoming local self-government elections together under the MahaYuti banner,” the Deputy Chief Minister informed the media.
On the matter of the elephant Mahadevi, Shinde mentioned that the state government will file a review petition in the Supreme Court.
“We deeply respect the sentiments of the people on this issue,” he remarked.
Moreover, Shinde subtly criticized the opposition, stating, “Parliament is in session, and we are here to meet our MPs openly and transparently. Unlike others, we are not operating in secrecy.”
