Patna, June 23 (NationPress) As the Indian government escalates its initiatives to evacuate citizens from the war-affected regions of Iran and Israel, leaders from BJP and Shiv Sena commended this action on Monday, recognizing it as a notable achievement in both diplomacy and humanitarian efforts, attributing the safe return of Indian nationals to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a conversation with IANS, Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde lauded the decisive measures taken by the Modi government. He stated, “When the conflict erupted between Russia and Ukraine, PM Modi ensured the safe evacuation of our citizens. Now, with numerous Indians caught in the escalating crisis in Iran, the government has once again intensified its evacuation efforts. Under ‘Operation Sindhu,’ we are bringing Indians back home safely. PM Modi also executed ‘Operation Sindoor’ to respond effectively to Pakistan. This is indeed a significant achievement.”
Similarly, BJP leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy shared parallel views, stating, “The evacuation of Indian citizens from Iran under Operation Sindhu demonstrates India’s capability. This operation is not an isolated event; it builds upon past successful endeavors. Whether in Ukraine or other regions, PM Modi has proven his commitment to safeguarding our citizens both domestically and internationally during crises. Only global powers can undertake such operations, and under PM Modi’s guidance, India is showcasing its strength.”
As of now, Operation Sindhu has successfully facilitated the return of over 1,700 Indian nationals.
This evacuation takes place amidst rising conflict in the area. The Israel-Iran war ignited after Israel initiated “Operation Rising Lion” last Friday, targeting Iran’s military and nuclear installations. The situation intensified further on Sunday when the United States joined the offensive, striking critical Iranian nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan—marking the first US offensive on Iranian soil since the 1979 revolution.
