Mumbai, Jan 17 (NationPress) Shiv Sena has initiated a three-day workshop for the 29 corporators newly elected to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). During this event, the party's chief leader and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will provide guidance on various aspects, including the functioning of the BMC, the city's development plan, the implementation of the election manifesto, and the formulation of a strategic roadmap for the next five years.
This announcement was made by Yuva Sena General Secretary and corporator Amey Ghole.
The workshop is taking place at a luxury hotel in Mumbai, where senior party leaders are also expected to impart their knowledge to the corporators throughout the three days.
Deputy Chief Minister Shinde has urged the corporators to commence their work promptly in order to validate the faith the public has placed in Shiv Sena. Consequently, the Shiv Sena corporators attended this guidance camp immediately after the election results were announced, as noted by Ghole.
During the camp, Shinde will personally mentor the corporators. Senior party members will also discuss the procedures of the BMC and offer insights on effective governance within their respective wards. Moreover, strategies and plans for the forthcoming Zilla Parishad elections will be deliberated upon.
Ghole further indicated that the Mayor of Mumbai will be from the Mahayuti alliance, and senior leaders from allied parties will make the final decision on this matter.
In the municipal elections statewide, Shiv Sena has successfully elected a total of 397 corporators, which includes the 29 from Mumbai, 75 from Thane, 54 from Kalyan-Dombivli, 42 from Navi Mumbai, 36 from Ulhasnagar, 26 from Nashik, 22 from Jalgaon, 15 from Kolhapur, 13 from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and 12 from Jalna.
The achievements of Shiv Sena in municipal elections across the state highlight the public's confidence in the party and its leader, Deputy Chief Minister Shinde, Ghole stated.
Following media reports about the party's strategy to relocate the 29 newly elected BMC corporators to a luxury hotel to prevent poaching, particularly ahead of the mayoral election, Shiv Sena released a statement.
With the BJP holding 89 members and Shiv Sena with 29, both parties have surpassed the halfway threshold of 114 in the 227-member BMC. Nevertheless, Shiv Sena has taken the precautionary measure of keeping its members united to avert any attempts to sway corporators prior to the mayoral election.
