New Delhi, Feb 12 (NationPress) Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar declared on Thursday that success consistently results from his efforts, despite the rising chatter about a possible shift in leadership within the state.

"We are involved in politics, hence it's essential to participate actively. My track record shows I achieve success; it merely requires a bit of effort," Shivakumar remarked during a press briefing at Karnataka Bhavan in Delhi, addressing inquiries regarding the ongoing leadership conflict in Karnataka. He is perceived as a top candidate for the Chief Minister's role.

When queried about the productivity of his visit to Delhi and whether there had been any clarity from the party's top brass regarding power-sharing, he replied, “That matter hasn’t been discussed. The party has its own objectives, and our leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge will make a suitable decision at the right moment, considering the party's success as well as the interests of Karnataka and the nation. The media and others are placing unnecessary emphasis on this visit. There’s nothing extraordinary for us in it.”

After being informed that he had displayed significant patience in this situation, he responded, “Patience also leads to positive outcomes.”

On his interactions with senior leaders, he mentioned, “Whenever I come to Delhi, I engage with everyone. I have met Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, K.C. Venugopal, Randeep Singh Surjewala, T.B. Jayachandra, and others. When politicians convene, do they not discuss political matters? Yes, we do discuss politics, but I cannot reveal the specifics of those discussions publicly. Our conversations included Karnataka's interests as well as issues related to Assam and Delhi.”

When he learned that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son and Congress MLC Yathindra had claimed no leadership change was expected in the state, Shivakumar quipped, “Is he not part of our high command? We must respect his statement.”

In response to inquiries about reports of MLAs undertaking foreign trips, he stated, “I won’t comment on that. There are MLAs and a Chief Minister. I am unaware of what guidance the Chief Minister has provided. This issue wasn’t discussed with me; I only learned about it through the media.”

Discussing the government's achievements after 1,000 days in office, he expressed, “We are proud of our government's milestones during these 1,000 days. We are commemorating this exceptional moment and, on this occasion, we are launching another initiative -- the Bhoomi Guarantee -- for the state's residents. We will provide title deeds and land ownership documents to thousands who lack land rights, along with proper khata documents. This is in addition to the five guarantees we have already established.”

When asked about his expectations for the next 1,000 days, he stated, “They will be exceptionally bright and robust.”

Addressing the BJP's claims that citizens are suffering due to a supposed conflict between the Chief Minister and himself, Shivakumar noted, “The discord lies within the BJP, not between us. Both the Chief Minister and I operate in accordance with the party's resolutions. All discussions have transpired between us. The party will finalize the decision.”

On Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s assertion that while relations with Congress are amicable, power-sharing isn’t feasible, he remarked, “I won’t comment on that. Our high command will provide a response. We aren't part of that dialogue, so it's not appropriate for me to discuss it.”
