The explosion near the Red Fort Metro Station in Delhi on Monday has caused widespread panic across the national capital, prompting authorities in the Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, and Mumbai to issue a heightened alert.
Importantly, earlier that morning, the J&K Police dismantled an interstate transnational terror module linked to the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind terror groups, leading to the recovery of 2,900 kg of explosives, two assault rifles, pistols, timers, and other materials in the Faridabad area of Haryana, near New Delhi. The police have reported seven arrests thus far.
According to the J&K Police, this operation followed the discovery of Jaish-e-Mohammad posters displayed at various locations in Bunpora Nowgam, Srinagar, on October 19, which threatened police and security personnel.
This seizure, occurring alongside the explosion at the Red Fort, takes place just a day before the second phase of the Bihar assembly elections.
