Bengaluru, Oct 1 (NationPress) In response to an alarming death threat directed at Rahul Gandhi by a BJP leader in Kerala, Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized on Wednesday that the Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition is not isolated; he is backed by millions of dedicated workers who stand united with him.

Taking to social media platform X, CM Siddaramaiah remarked, "A BJP spokesperson has brazenly issued a death threat, proclaiming 'We will shoot Rahul Gandhi in the chest, beware..!!' against the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, who has consistently voiced his concerns against the BJP and the Sangh Parivar. The lack of a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah regarding such a statement raises questions about their tacit approval of it."

“Threatening to silence ideological adversaries, and when that fails, attempting physical elimination, is a longstanding tactic of the BJP and Sangh Parivar. Historically, they have covertly supported the killings of their opponents, but now they are overtly engaging in such tactics. Those who cannot confront their opponents through intellectual discourse and debate resort to violence, revealing their own intellectual inadequacy,” CM Siddaramaiah stated.

“Are the victims of the Sangh Parivar’s violence limited to just a few? This cycle of violence, which commenced with Mahatma Gandhi, extends to Govind Pansare, Narendra Dabholkar, M.M. Kalburgi, and Gauri Lankesh -- the list continues to grow. Even if Sangh Parivar leaders deny any involvement with these assassins, they cannot erase the bloodshed associated with their actions,” CM Siddaramaiah asserted.

He further expressed, "Previously, not only I but also numerous writers, intellectuals, and activists across the nation have faced death threats. The police are currently investigating these incidents. However, I will not abandon my beliefs out of fear. I trust that justice will eventually prevail, and these wrongdoers will face the consequences."

“This isn’t the first occasion that Rahul Gandhi’s family has experienced threats to their lives. He has lost both his grandmother and father to such violent acts. The BJP must understand that Rahul Gandhi is not alone; he has the unwavering support of millions of workers rallying behind him,” CM Siddaramaiah concluded.

It should be noted that Pintu Mahadev is accused of issuing a “chilling death threat” to Rahul Gandhi during a live debate on News18 Kerala, where he openly stated that “Rahul Gandhi will be shot in the chest.”

The Congress party has reached out to Union Home Minister and senior BJP figure Amit Shah concerning the death threat made against Rahul Gandhi by one of their spokespersons, Pintu Mahadev, during live television. The party demands that the Home Minister take “immediate and strict” measures against the BJP spokesperson.
