Bengaluru, Feb 11 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure and former Minister M.P. Renukacharya has asserted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s choice of the term “coward” to describe the nation's Prime Minister constitutes an affront to all Indians.

During a media briefing on Wednesday at the BJP headquarters, 'Jagannath Bhavan', in Bengaluru, he urged Siddaramaiah to issue an apology to the nation and seek forgiveness from 140 crore citizens. He recalled that in 2014, Siddaramaiah had labeled Prime Minister Narendra Modi a “mass murderer”, which led to the electorate's rejection of his party in subsequent elections.

“For the sake of retaining your position, you defer to Sonia Gandhi, the inexperienced Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Is this the behavior expected from a seasoned politician?” he questioned.

Renukacharya emphasized that PM Modi has never fled out of fear. He noted that the Congress party attempted to orchestrate a protest with its female members, but on the Lok Sabha Speaker's advice, he chose not to participate. “Is it because you have a loose tongue that you make such statements?” he queried.

“Regarding power, you speak this way. It has been three years since Siddaramaiah assumed office. What achievements do you have to show?” he challenged. “By expressing such sentiments, the Congress party has lost its relevance in the nation,” he added.

“Isn’t the Prime Minister of our country a former tea seller?” he pointed out, referencing a time when it was claimed that ‘Indira is India’. Now, he asserted, the Congress lacks both identity and a future.

He noted that prominent leaders are distancing themselves from Siddaramaiah.

“You criticize PM Modi’s strength... The discerning voters of this nation did not even permit your party to hold the position of Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Did not the US President lower tariffs? That is the strength of PM Narendra Modi,” he remarked.

“When the Pahalgam attack occurred, were not individuals shot after being queried about their religion? In retaliation, terrorist hideouts were swiftly annihilated – that is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strength,” he affirmed.

“Siddaramaiah, as a respected senior politician, I urge you to sincerely apologize for your disrespect towards PM Modi,” he demanded.

He accused Siddaramaiah of spreading falsehoods regarding the VB-G Ram G scheme, which has garnered approval from the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, and the President. He further alleged that Siddaramaiah attempted to convey falsehoods through the Governor and claimed that the Congress party currently governs in only three states.

Recently, following the passage of the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address in the Lok Sabha without a traditional response from PM Modi, Siddaramaiah labeled this act “cowardice”.

Point of View

It is crucial to recognize that political discourse must remain respectful, even amidst disagreements. The call for an apology from Siddaramaiah highlights the need for accountability among leaders. The nation deserves a political environment where dialogue supersedes derogation.
