Kuala Lumpur, Feb 18 (NationPress) Indian badminton star PV Sindhu has fallen two positions in the women's singles world rankings, as per the latest announcement from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) on Tuesday.

The two-time Olympic champion, who has participated in only two tournaments in 2025, has slipped from world number 13 to 15 after her withdrawal from the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships due to a minor injury.

Sindhu reached the quarter-finals at the India Open Super 750 and was eliminated in the first round of the Indonesia Masters Super 500. She currently holds the 15th position with 57,190 points, while her Korean rival An Se-young leads the list with 111,867 points.

In contrast, Malvoka Bansod made significant progress, climbing three spots to rank 28th with 44,752 points.

In men's singles, Lakshya Sen remains India's top player, staying at world number 10 with 63,668 points. HS Prannoy ranks 31 with 44,662 points. China's Shi Yu Qi, who triumphed in the season-opening Malaysia Open and secured third place in the Indonesia Masters, tops the rankings with 100,415 points.

The prominent Indian men's doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who reached the semifinals at both the Malaysia Open and the India Open, continues to hold the seventh position with 73,430 points.

The Danish duo of Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen leads the men's doubles rankings with 94,903 points.

In mixed doubles, Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto have emerged as India's top mixed pair after climbing seven places to enter the top 30.

In women's doubles, Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly maintain their status as the leading Indian duo in the category, placed ninth with 59,611 points.
