Kuala Lumpur, Feb 18 (NationPress) The prominent Indian badminton player PV Sindhu has slipped two positions in the women's singles global rankings, as per the latest update from the Badminton World Federation (BWF) issued on Tuesday.
The two-time Olympic medalist, Sindhu, has participated in only two tournaments in 2025, falling from world number 13 to world number 15 after withdrawing from the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships due to a minor injury.
She reached the quarter-finals at the India Open Super 750 but was eliminated in the first round of the Indonesia Masters Super 500. Currently, she holds the 15th position with 57,190 points in the women's singles ranking, which is led by her Korean competitor An Se-young with 111,867 points.
Meanwhile, Malvoka Bansod has made a notable climb of three spots to enter the top 30, now ranked 28th with 44,752 points.
In the men's singles rankings, Lakshya Sen remains India’s leading player at world number 10 with 63,668 points. HS Prannoy is currently at 31st place with 44,662 points. Shi Yu Qi from China, who triumphed at the Malaysia Open and secured third place in the Indonesia Masters, leads the rankings with 100,415 points.
The renowned Indian men’s doubles team of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continues to hold the seventh position globally with 73,430 points, following their semifinal finishes at both the Malaysia Open and India Open.
On the men's doubles ranking, the Danish pair of Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen are at the top with 94,903 points.
In mixed doubles, the duo of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto has emerged as the leading mixed pair in the nation, having climbed seven places to break into the top 30.
For women’s doubles, Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly maintain their status as the top Indian players in this category, currently ranked ninth with 59,611 points.
