New Delhi, June 21 (NationPress) The President of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Devender Yadav, asserted on Saturday that former education minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia won’t evade incarceration by providing evasive responses to the ED regarding the purported Rs 2,000 crore classroom construction scandal.
“Sisodia’s vague replies to the 37 inquiries made by ED agents will not shield him from repercussions,” Yadav stated.
He remarked that the corrupt actions linked to this scandal are finally catching up with the former education minister, even as he attempts to shift the blame onto officials in a bid to obscure the corruption within the AAP government.
The Delhi Congress chief indicated that Sisodia had sanctioned all necessary approvals for the classroom projects, but is now frantically trying to redirect the blame to subordinates.
Yadav noted that Sisodia, who previously spent months in prison concerning the liquor scandal, is attempting to establish his innocence in the classroom construction case by providing misleading information to the ED.
He pointed out that Sisodia continues to engage in blame-shifting despite the electorate of Delhi ousting the corrupt Aam Aadmi Party from power, a decisive punishment for the misdeeds of leaders like Sisodia, Arvind Kejriwal, and Satyendar Jain.
According to Yadav, Sisodia, who held multiple portfolios including Education, Finance, and Excise in the AAP government, was the Chairman of the Finance Committee when the contracts for classroom construction were awarded at inflated costs.
Yadav stated that the Delhi Congress has uncovered AAP's liquor scam and the DTC bus procurement and maintenance scandal, while also voicing concerns over the classroom construction scandal.
He remarked that following exposure, Sisodia is now seeking a way out.
The Delhi Congress chief alleged that even the BJP government has attempted to protect Sisodia by neglecting to act on the findings from various CAG reports, which reveal the financial mismanagement of the previous administration.
Yadav emphasized that despite presenting 14 CAG reports in the Assembly, the BJP has failed to initiate any further measures, raising questions about the BJP government’s true intentions regarding the punishment of corrupt AAP leaders.
