Kolkata, Nov 13 (NationPress) Former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Sankrail in West Bengal's Howrah district, Sital Kumar Sardar, has passed away at the age of 83 due to health issues related to old age, as confirmed by his family.
According to a family source, Sardar died on Wednesday night at his residence. His remains will be honored today at the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, where fellow MLAs will pay their final respects.
The Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari, expressed his condolences following the death of the veteran politician, who served as an MLA five times.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the BJP leader stated, "I am profoundly saddened by the demise of the former MLA of the Sankrail Assembly constituency, esteemed leader, Hon'ble Shri Sheetal Sardar. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and supporters. I pray for his soul's eternal peace. Om Shanti."
Throughout his political journey, Sardar achieved electoral success from the Sankrail constituency five consecutive times.
