Bhubaneswar, Jan 9 (NationPress) Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi urged students to develop their skills in any area they are passionate about, aiming to be industry-ready and secure employment within Odisha.
During his address at the closing ceremony of the Odisha Skills Competition 2025-26, Majhi emphasized, “A significant industrialization effort is currently underway in Odisha. By acquiring skills in various fields, individuals can find job opportunities locally, as our goal is to attain excellence across the skill sector.”
The Chief Minister further highlighted that skills are essential for the sustainable development and economic advancement of the state.
“As our youth become more skilled and confident, they can better shape a prosperous future for themselves. This effort will contribute to realizing the vision of a ‘Sammrudha Odisha’ by 2036 and a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. A bright future for our youth means a bright future for Odisha,” stated Majhi.
He also reiterated that the three key pillars of the state’s industrialization strategy include infrastructure development, creating a conducive environment for industrial growth, and skill development. The Chief Minister noted ongoing efforts by the state government to establish a robust industrial ecosystem in Odisha by enhancing these sectors.
In the last 18 months, projects worth Rs 6.15 lakh crore have been sanctioned, which are projected to create jobs for 3.64 lakh individuals.
CM Majhi mentioned that the government is committed to improving students' skills. The Utkarsh ITI Scheme has been ratified by the state Cabinet.
He announced that 47 ITIs across the state will be transformed into Centres of Excellence with upgraded infrastructure and advanced skill training facilities. Furthermore, AI laboratories are being set up in nine ITIs statewide to foster skill development in artificial intelligence.
On this occasion, CM Majhi recognized students who excelled in the Odisha Skills Competition 2025-26.
