New Delhi, April 5 (NationPress) Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena officially launched a smart police kiosk by the Delhi Police at IGI Airport on Saturday. This innovative platform allows passengers to file complaints regarding lost baggage, vehicle theft, or submit an e-FIR for any other issues.
The kiosk will be staffed 24/7 with police officers trained in soft skills and various foreign languages. The inauguration was attended by Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora, DCP IGI Airport Usha Rangnani, and other senior officials.
DCP Rangnani mentioned, "Starting today, this booth is operational. It provides numerous services aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Digital India and Smart Policing."
The booth features two interactive kiosks designed for ease of use, allowing passengers to access information or citizen services. The public kiosk is linked to internal police booths, simplifying the complaint-filing process.
“Passengers can utilize the interactive kiosk to file an e-FIR or report a lost item and print the documents instantly,” she added.
Additionally, the second kiosk provides helpline numbers and a comprehensive guide to airport terminals, hotels, entertainment venues, and hospitals nearby. “It also offers information on bus bookings and taxi services, as well as directions to the lost and found counter,” she explained.
The kiosk also includes details about tourist attractions in Delhi and beyond.
DCP Rangnani highlighted that the kiosks will be continuously monitored by trained personnel from Delhi Police and that live feeds from over 200 cameras will enable rapid responses to any suspicious activities around the airport.
Furthermore, staff at the kiosk have been specially trained in soft skills to effectively address public concerns. They will also receive training in additional foreign languages.
With the aid of virtual information displays, passengers can easily locate specific areas within the airport terminal, access 24/7 live video support, get instant flight information by scanning boarding passes, and view 3-D maps to find boarding gates, restaurants, shops, and other amenities.
