Bagalkot (Karnataka), April 3 (NationPress) Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti V. Somanna has asserted that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, currently in his second term, is exploiting his position for personal gain, thereby misleading the citizens of Karnataka and casting the state into turmoil.

While addressing the media in Bagalkot during the campaign for BJP candidate Veeranna Charantimath, he highlighted that despite the government's announcement of support prices for various agricultural products, their inadequate response has resulted in the tragic deaths of 2,809 farmers over the past three years.

Somanna pointed out that more than 2.5 lakh jobs remain unfilled and criticized the government for failing to allocate any funds to assist flood victims in North Karnataka, amidst an emerging drinking water crisis.

The Union Minister claimed that the BJP has significantly contributed to the development of Bengaluru. He added that not only opposition members but even those from the ruling party have lost the moral credibility to engage with their constituents and assert their achievements.

He lambasted the state administration, stating that corruption and nepotism have reached alarming levels, rendering the management a hub of inefficiency. He alleged that the government shows indifference even when criticized by its own party members, accusing the entire cabinet of being entrenched in corruption while neglecting essential infrastructure.

According to Somanna, the upcoming bypolls offer a chance to unveil the government's arrogance, corruption, and operational failures to the general populace.

He accused the government of fostering divisions within communities and misleading the public.

Somanna asserted that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, a sum of Rs 28,000 crore was deposited, with expectations of submitting utilization certificates to access funds, yet the state has only utilized Rs 11,000 crore.

He also alleged discrepancies, claiming the existence of around 41 lakh fake job cards and that funds were being misappropriated under various pretenses, including JCB-related projects.

He mentioned that the Prime Minister has increased allocations for comprehensive national development and enhancing rural livelihoods to Rs 97,000 crore, up from Rs 88,000 crore, as part of the vision for a developed India.
