Beed, Nov 3 (NationPress) NCP (SP) working president and party MP Supriya Sule on Monday urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to refrain from granting anyone a clean slate in the tragic case of a woman doctor who took her own life at the Phaltan sub-district hospital in Satara.
Sule emphasized the need for justice for the victim, setting aside any political motives. She addressed the media following her visit to the victim’s family in Beed.
She raised the question of how the CDR report was made public to select individuals.
“There have been numerous allegations and rebuttals stemming from this. What is the origin of this vile politics in Maharashtra? I am puzzled. An investigation must take place. Why the haste? A thorough and transparent inquiry is essential in this matter. Anyone guilty of wrongdoing, regardless of their identity, must face consequences. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis should not exonerate anyone prior to the investigation. The Chief Minister holds a significant position and must protect the victim’s reputation,” she asserted.
“It is deeply troubling that the government has made such insensitive comments regarding this incident, which are both regrettable and alarming. She was a gifted individual from Maharashtra and deserves justice. While there is a growing sentiment of suppressing this case, we will not remain silent until justice is served for the family,” she added.
“I appreciate Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for acknowledging the establishment of an SIT concerning the suicide of the Phaltan doctor. However, upon reviewing the order, it became evident that it was not a comprehensive SIT. Thus, I earnestly request the Chief Minister to heed the family’s plea for a complete SIT with appointed members. Including a retired Chief Justice in the SIT is crucial, and we all bear the moral obligation to ensure justice for the victim’s family in a fully transparent manner, devoid of political influence,” Sule stated.
Sule mentioned that party MP from Beed, Bajrang Sonawane, will meet with Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the facts surrounding the case. “I implore both Deputy Chief Ministers of the state to resist any political pressure. Justice must be delivered to the daughter of Maharashtra. We stand with the victim’s family. There should be no political interference in such matters; those responsible for the crime must be held accountable,” she remarked.
“To secure justice for the daughter of Maharashtra, we stand resolutely with the family. Should anyone attempt to shield those who have wronged the daughter of Maharashtra, we will not overlook it,” she assured.
