Jammu, April 25 (NationPress) Former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Nirmal Singh, responded to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, stating that it is "essential to teach Pakistan a lesson" and expressing his faith in India's leadership to manage the situation effectively.

In an interview with IANS, BJP leader Nirmal Singh asserted, "This is just the beginning. The individuals who come here to harm innocent lives and propagate terrorism must be confronted. We need to address those lurking in the forests. Much like our previous surgical strikes, this marks the start of our response. Let’s observe the actions that will unfold in the days ahead."

He also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resolute message to terrorists during a speech in Bihar, where the PM pledged that India would "identify, trace, and punish" every terrorist and their accomplices, pursuing them "to the ends of the Earth."

Nirmal Singh added, "Efforts to eliminate terrorism are in progress across multiple regions. A thorough operation is underway, and the police forces are expected to deliver results."

He further discussed India’s recent measures against Pakistan, which included halting the Indus Waters Treaty, shutting down the Integrated Check Post at the Attari border, and reducing diplomatic presence within each other's High Commissions.

In retaliation, Pakistan has closed its airspace to all Indian-owned and operated airlines.

Singh remarked, "What will their next move be? Under Union Home Minister Amit Shah's guidance, the suspension of water from regions like Punjab will have severe repercussions for them, potentially leading to famine. This is just the start, and it is indeed the right moment for such actions."

He emphasized that the matter should be entrusted to experts and the leadership of India.

"Did you anticipate the surgical strikes beforehand? Today, 1.4 billion Indians stand united against terrorism. The entire world supports us. Let's place our faith in the central government. The unity displayed by all political parties during the All Party Meeting indicates that they will act in the nation's best interest," he stated.

Nirmal Singh also commented on the visit of Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi to Srinagar, where he assessed the security landscape of the area.

Singh remarked, "PM Modi's return from Saudi Arabia was pivotal for India, and Amit Shah's visit to Pahalgam on the same day was equally significant."

"The Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy are all fulfilling their roles. Army Chief's visit to J&K to review the situation was crucial. It's time to impart a lesson to Pakistan. The world supports us, with few exceptions. We must have faith in our top leaders," he concluded.
