Hyderabad, Dec 9 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, provided a strong commitment to facilitate the establishment of film studios in the forthcoming Bharat Future City.
He mentioned that the state government is prepared to extend all necessary resources to filmmakers willing to bring their scripts.
During a gathering with notable personalities including actors Chiranjeevi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Genelia, Arjun Kapoor, and Akkineni Amala, as well as filmmakers such as Allu Aravind, Suresh Babu, and Dil Raju, the Chief Minister conveyed the government's readiness to offer comprehensive support for the film industry.
Accompanying him were Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister for Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy.
The Chief Minister highlighted that a Skills University has already been established in Future City, encouraging the exploration of training programs for locals in 24 different crafts to fulfill the demands of the film sector.
Actor Akkineni Nagarjuna, who was present at an earlier event, announced plans for the establishment of Annapurna Studio within Future City.
Furthermore, Salman Khan’s Salman Khan Ventures Pvt Ltd revealed intentions to create a ₹10,000-crore integrated township and film studio.
This township is set to include a championship golf course, luxurious leisure facilities, a race course, curated nature trails, and upscale residential areas. An official release stated that it would also contain a modern film studio complex designed to accommodate large-scale productions, OTT content, post-production services, and talent development initiatives.
The state government has pledged land and infrastructure for the Film City, which is proposed to be developed by Ajay Devgn Film Studio.
Participants in the session titled “The Creative Century: India’s Soft Power and The Future of Entertainment” included Arjun Kapoor, Ritesh Deshmukh, and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra.
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy emphasized Hyderabad's rapid emergence as a global entertainment hub, mentioning its state-of-the-art film infrastructure such as Ramoji Film City, major VFX and gaming firms, and a vibrant, diverse creative workforce.
He reiterated the commitment of the Telangana government to enhance this ecosystem through film policy reforms that incentivize international production, establish AVGC-XR innovation centers, and foster global industry collaborations.
Additionally, the Minister highlighted the significance of industry welfare and sustainable growth, announcing initiatives such as capital subsidies for substantial investments, production reimbursements for companies utilizing local resources, and mandatory contributions from increased ticket prices towards a film workers’ welfare fund.
The government aims to ensure that rapid growth does not compromise fair working conditions for industry participants.
Describing the future of entertainment as a blend of cinema, OTT, gaming, esports, virtual production, creator economy, and immersive digital storytelling, the Minister noted that while technology will reshape content creation, the essence of storytelling will always be rooted in human experiences.
He welcomed global studios, streaming services, gaming enterprises, and investors, positioning Hyderabad as the entry point to the Indian entertainment landscape, and India as the gateway to the global market.
