Hyderabad, Sep 28 (NationPress) Telangana's Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced on Sunday that the upcoming Bharat Future City, situated near Hyderabad, is poised to rival global metropolises such as New York. "In a decade, I will create a city that will instill pride in its residents. Those returning from New York will boast about having experienced Future City," the Chief Minister stated during the inauguration of the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) building in Mirkhanpet, located in the Kandukur Mandal of Ranga Reddy district.
“Tourists often share their admiration for foreign nations upon returning. For years, cities like New York, Tokyo, Singapore, and Dubai have been praised. We, too, must construct cities that can stand alongside them," he expressed.
"After 70 years, should we not undertake projects that gain global recognition? What’s lacking in Bharat Future City?" he queried, asserting that it possesses all the necessary attributes to become an exceptional city.
The Chief Minister refuted opposition claims suggesting that the Future City is being developed for personal gain, stating that it is intended for future generations rather than for himself or his family.
Revanth Reddy expressed his willingness to learn from the commendable initiatives of previous leaders.
He noted that while the Qutub Shahi rulers established Hyderabad 436 years ago, the Nizam contributed to the development of Secunderabad 220 years ago. Former Chief Ministers of the undivided Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, envisioned a better future and initiated projects like HITEC City, Shamshabad Airport, and the Outer Ring Road.
In addition to laying the foundation for Radial Road -1 (phases one and two), the Chief Minister emphasized that Future City will serve as a hub for investment and abundant opportunities.
He urged citizens not to be misled by the opposition's deceptive narratives aimed at derailing the project. "There are forces attempting to obstruct the Future City initiative," he remarked.
He highlighted that the Central government has already approved a Bullet Train service from this location to Chennai via Amaravati. "My vision is to see all Fortune 500 companies establish a presence in Future City within a decade," he shared.
Reassuring that minor issues in the Future City development will be dealt with, he advised the public to refrain from taking legal action. He clarified that the government would provide generous assistance to those affected by development activities.
The Chief Minister mentioned that Telangana is currently the only southern Indian state without a port, which led him to propose a 12-lane dedicated national greenfield highway linking Future City to Machilipatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh.
Regarding the unique features of Future City, he noted that an underground power line network will be established.
He expressed confidence that the FCDA and Skill University would be completed by December and mentioned plans to engage with potential investors at the FCDA office.
The Chief Minister suggested that Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka allocate 10 acres in Future City for the office of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), with a completion target within a year.
