Hyderabad, Aug 20 (IANS) Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy expressed on Wednesday that there are individuals who disapprove of his initiatives for the rejuvenation of the Musi River and the establishment of Bharat Future City.
He emphasized that the government is dedicated to the holistic advancement of Hyderabad and expressed optimism that by 2034, the city will be developed in such a way that it captures global attention.
This statement was made during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the district registrar office and integrated registration office in Gachibowli.
Addressing the objections raised by the opposition regarding the Musi rejuvenation and Bharat Future City projects, he pointed out that similar skepticism was directed at the inception of Hitech City.
Since the Qutub Shahi era, numerous individuals have strived to elevate Hyderabad's status on the global stage, and it is due to their efforts that the city now holds a significant place on the world map, he noted.
The Chief Minister attributed advancements in the Information Technology sector to the initiatives of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, stating it was during the Congress government that Hitech City was initiated.
"The arrival of globally recognized companies here is a result of the foresight and endeavors of previous chief ministers. Today, Hyderabad is not merely competing with Bangalore or Chennai; it is vying with Tokyo and New York," he stated.
Referring to the Old City of Hyderabad as the original city, he mentioned that the government aims to revive its former glory through the rejuvenation of the Musi River.
"We plan to bring Godavari River water to ensure that the Musi flows year-round and to develop the Musi Riverfront," he said.
He highlighted the need for the city to expand in order to create more job opportunities.
Revanth Reddy also mentioned that a Vision 2047 document has been prepared for the overall development of Telangana.
He remarked that those who hinder the city's growth are its adversaries, urging the public to respond appropriately to such elements.
The Chief Minister indicated that with the establishment of integrated sub-registrar offices, the government aims to permanently address public grievances.
"We strive to enhance the appearance of registration offices, which contribute revenue to the government. The sub-registrar offices will be constructed with all amenities comparable to five-star hotels and international airports," he stated.
He advised Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy to ensure the completion of 11 integrated sub-registrar offices by the state's formation day (June 2, 2026).
Industry and Information Technology Minister D. Sridhar Babu affirmed the government's commitment to Hyderabad's development.
He mentioned that the government has demonstrated its dedication by allocating Rs 10,000 crore in the Budget for the city's growth.
