Hyderabad, June 12 (NationPress) A court in Hyderabad has placed Nune Sridhar, an Executive Engineer with the Telangana Irrigation Department, in judicial custody for 14 days due to allegations of disproportionate assets.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) revealed significant wealth acquired by the officer, which includes a villa, three independent buildings, 19 prime residential plots, at least four flats, and interests in multiple hotels. On Thursday, he was presented before a court, which ordered his custody.
Sridhar was employed as the Executive Engineer in the Irrigation & CAD Department, Division-8, SRSP Camp located in Choppadandi, Karimnagar district, and he has been moved to Chanchalguda Central Jail.
The ACB's investigation into his assets is expected to extend over the next few days, including the opening of his bank lockers, where further financial transactions may be uncovered. Based on the documents obtained during the raids, officials may discover additional properties connected to him or his 'benamis' (proxies).
Raids conducted by the ACB at his residence and 13 other locations associated with him and his relatives unveiled properties such as a village in Tellapur, a 4,500 square-foot flat in a gated community in Sheikhpet, a commercial complex in Ameerpet, three flats in Karimnagar, three buildings, and 16 acres of land in prime areas of Hyderabad, Karimnagar, and Warangal. Additionally, two vehicles, gold jewelry, and bank deposits were discovered.
The total market value of the properties he has accumulated is estimated at Rs 100 crore. Reports indicate that he also allegedly disbursed crores for a destination wedding in Thailand for his son.
The ACB has filed a case of disproportionate assets against Sridhar.
