Hyderabad, Jan 1 (NationPress) On Thursday, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma hosted the New Year 2026 Open House celebrations at Lok Bhavan. The event saw the presence of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, numerous Cabinet Ministers, senior bureaucrats, and various renowned individuals who came to greet the Governor and share New Year wishes.

Meanwhile, several ministers visited Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy at his home to convey their New Year greetings. Ministers including Ponnam Prabhakar, Seethakka, Konda Surekha, and Mohammed Azharuddin, along with Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, Members of the Legislative Council, and senior officials, greeted the Chief Minister.
During the event, the Chief Minister also unveiled the diary and calendar for the Prison Department in the company of senior department officials.
Earlier, Governor Jishnu Dev Varma held a virtual inauguration for the Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship Development (IIED) Cell at Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT), Basar, where he allocated funds from his discretionary quota for its establishment.
Highlighting the importance of technical education for rural youth, the Governor expressed that the new cell would promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students. He mentioned that the IIED Cell is set to offer mentorship, infrastructure support, industry connections, and startup assistance to tackle challenges in the fields of agriculture, healthcare, and sustainability.
The Governor encouraged students to embrace innovation with ethical values for inclusive growth and expressed confidence that RGUKT Basar would become a premier innovation center, contributing to the vision of a Viksit Bharat. He assured unwavering support for the IIED Cell going forward.
Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Governor S. Abdul Nazeer, accompanied by First Lady Sameera Nazeer, also partook in New Year festivities at the Durbar Hall of Andhra Pradesh Lok Bhavan in Vijayawada, where a cake was cut to celebrate the occasion. Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand and his wife presented a bouquet to the Governor and the First Lady, extending their New Year greetings.
