During this meeting, they were officially acknowledged for their outstanding accomplishments.
This engagement occurs amidst the Tamil Nadu government’s ongoing initiatives, spearheaded by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, aimed at establishing the State as India's sports capital. The fund facilitates the acquisition of sports equipment, participation in global competitions, and access to specialized training required for national and international events.
In line with this initiative, the Deputy Chief Minister distributed cheques to several athletes who have excelled at the national level.

Pradeep, who participated in the Asian Para Road Cycling Championship in Saudi Arabia in February 2026, received financial aid of Rs 2.5 lakh to cover competition-related expenses.
Cyclist R. Sanjay was awarded Rs 2 lakh for his involvement in the Asian Road Cycling Championship. In total, eight athletes received financial backing amounting to Rs 7.85 lakh from the Tamil Nadu Champions Trust Fund to assist them in competing on an international level and upgrading essential sports gear.
After the cheque distribution, Tamil Nadu athletes who earned medals in beach volleyball at the Khelo India Beach Games had a formal meeting with the Deputy Chief Minister to express their gratitude. The medalists included K. Deepika, Su. Pavithra, M. Swathi, and A. Darshini in the women's category, as well as V. Rajesh, So. Bharath, S. Abithan, and U. Poonthamizhann in the men's category.
