Thiruvannamalai (Tamil Nadu), Dec 27 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M.K. Stalin, expressed his strong belief that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will reclaim power in the forthcoming Assembly elections. He attributed this confidence to the government's focus on welfare and development initiatives throughout the state.
While addressing a gathering in Malappambadi, Tiruvannamalai district, during the distribution of welfare aid, Stalin emphasized that the citizens of Tamil Nadu have consistently placed their trust in the DMK’s inclusive policies.
"Seeing all of you here revitalizes my spirit. Tiruvannamalai holds a special significance – it is where the DMK first secured a Member of Parliament. This historical context fortifies our determination," he stated.
The Chief Minister pointed out that in merely four years, his administration has rolled out numerous schemes that have garnered national recognition.
"We have facilitated economic empowerment, especially among women. Thanks to our initiatives, women now receive monthly financial support, directly benefiting over 1.30 crore individuals," he remarked.
Furthermore, he noted that the provision of free bus travel for women has led to nearly 900 crore journeys, significantly alleviating their financial constraints and enhancing mobility.
Stalin also highlighted the effectiveness of the Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme, which currently assists 19.4 lakh schoolchildren daily, thereby boosting attendance and educational outcomes.
"These initiatives are not merely welfare programs; they are investments in Tamil Nadu’s future," he affirmed.
In announcing new development projects for Tiruvannamalai district, he mentioned the establishment of a SIDCO industrial estate at Ayyathur at a cost of Rs 1 crore.
Infrastructure improvements will be made at the Kalasapakkam temple, and a new building for Chengam Government Arts College will be constructed for Rs 18.5 crore. Additionally, a modern agricultural nursery will be set up for Rs 1 crore, along with an agricultural extension centre at Malaiyur with an investment of Rs 3 crore. A seed storage facility costing Rs 2.40 crore will also be created to assist farmers.
Criticizing the Union government, Stalin noted that Tamil Nadu continues to thrive despite not receiving its fair share of central funds.
"We are constructing a robust state even with insufficient support from the Centre. Some individuals are dissatisfied with this progress and are attempting to tarnish Tamil Nadu’s reputation," he asserted, adding that the BJP-led Union government has failed to tackle issues like inflation, unemployment, and environmental concerns.
Stalin reiterated his assurance that the people of Tamil Nadu would once again elect the DMK to lead. He concluded by extending New Year wishes to the public, reaffirming his government’s commitment to inclusive growth and social equity.
