Chennai, May 8 (NationPress) The results of Tamil Nadu’s Class 12 board examinations have been announced, showcasing a remarkable overall pass rate of 95.03%, which signifies a 0.47% increase compared to the previous year.
School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi revealed that among the 792,494 candidates who took the exams, 753,142 successfully passed.
“Ariyalur district achieved the highest pass percentage at 98.82%, followed by Erode district with 97.98%,” the minister stated.
In government and aided schools, Ariyalur led the state again with a pass percentage of 98.82%.
Looking at specific subjects, the minister noted that 96.99% of students passed in Science, while the Commerce stream recorded a success rate of 92.68%.
Interestingly, 9,536 students achieved full marks in Computer Science, the highest number of centum achievers in any subject.
Chemistry followed with 3,181 students scoring centums, and 3,022 students excelled in Mathematics.
Results can be checked online at results.digilocker.gov.in and tnresults.nic.in. Furthermore, results will be dispatched via SMS to registered mobile numbers.
Originally slated for May 9, the results were released a day ahead of schedule. Officials confirmed that steps were taken to ensure students were informed about this adjustment.
The Class 12 exams took place from March 3 to March 25 across 3,316 centres. Class 11 exams were conducted from March 5 to March 27, while Class 10 exams occurred from March 28 to April 15, utilizing 4,113 centres.
Over 45,000 teachers were assigned to oversee exam duties, and more than 4,800 flying squads monitored the centres to prevent any form of malpractice.
A dedicated exam control room at the Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) functioned from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. during exam days to respond to queries from students and the public.
Strict regulations prohibited the use of mobile phones within exam centres by both students and supervising teachers.
In contrast, the 2024 Class 12 board exams had 772,000 students appearing, including 410,000 girls, 360,000 boys, and one transgender student. That year, 393,890 girls, 325,305 boys, and the transgender student successfully passed. The School Education Department emphasized that rigorous measures were implemented to ensure a smooth, transparent, and equitable examination process.
