Tourists Descend on Kutch's Rann Utsav After PM Modi's Call Ahead of New Year

Kutch, Dec 30 (NationPress) Following an appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Gujarat's renowned 'Rann Utsav', tourists from various parts of the nation are converging on the Kutch region to witness the enchanting salt desert. The celebrations, which span nearly three months, are in full swing as the New Year approaches.
The area is experiencing a significant surge of visitors at the Kutch's Kiran Utsav, where individuals are discovering the famous white salt marshes, a breathtaking natural wonder unique to this locale. The local government has implemented special arrangements to accommodate the increasing number of tourists, including a Volvo bus service from Bhuj to Kutch for enhanced accessibility.
Moreover, particular emphasis is placed on the comfort of tourists at the Tent City, where guests are being provided with exceptional amenities.
In a conversation with IANS, two sisters, Manu and Pragati, visiting Kutch for the first time, expressed their enthusiasm: "We arrived today to explore Gujarat. It feels like we are walking on snow! The landscape is so captivating that we intend to extend our stay. It’s an unforgettable experience."
Anuradha Sharma from Punjab shared her astonishment at the sight of the Rann Utsav, stating, "I had heard of such places, but now I can finally experience it. Kutch is extraordinarily beautiful, unlike anything else in the country—or even the world. For those seeking adventure, this is the destination to visit."
Amit Gupta, the manager of the Rannotsav Tent City, confirmed that they are well-equipped for the influx of visitors anticipated for the New Year celebrations.
"Our Prime Minister encouraged people to visit here, and they are arriving in thousands. Hotels are fully booked, creating more job opportunities for the locals. It is essential for individuals to learn about Kutch’s culture and history," he remarked.
The festivities, which commenced on December 1, will last until February 28, 2025, while the Tent City will remain operational until the end of March. The annual Rann Utsav transforms the vast, pristine white sands of the Great Rann of Kutch into a cultural sanctuary, offering a unique chance for visitors to immerse themselves in local heritage, music, art, and cuisine.
Kutch, Gujarat's largest district, is renowned not only for the White Rann but also for a variety of other attractions, providing tourists with an unforgettable combination of scenic splendor, rich history, and vibrant traditions.
