Kolkata, May 13 (NationPress) The lifeless body of Pritam Majumdar, son of Rinku Majumdar, who recently married Dilip Ghosh, the former National Vice-President of the BJP and ex-President of the West Bengal party, was found under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday at his residence in New Town, Kolkata.
Pritam Majumdar was the offspring of Rinku Majumdar from her previous marriage.
Once his body was identified, it was initially transported to a private hospital in New Town and subsequently referred to Bidhannagar Sub-divisional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The remains were then taken to the state-run R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata for an autopsy, which is anticipated to conclude on Tuesday, allowing for cremation at the Nimtala crematorium in Kolkata later that evening.
Authorities from the state police indicated that while the precise cause of death will be determined after the thorough autopsy report is released, there are indications it may have resulted from a medication overdose.
Investigations revealed that Pritam was managing several medications due to health issues.
As of the filing of this report, neither Dilip Ghosh nor Rinku Majumdar had commented on the incident.
Last month, following their marriage, Pritam expressed to the press that he was pleased with his mother’s choice to embark on a new chapter in her life.
However, he missed the wedding ceremony as he was away from Kolkata on leave.
Pritam worked in an Information Technology Enabled Service (ITeS) company, operating from the office located in the IT hub of Sector-5, Salt Lake, which is close to his home.
