Bengaluru, Jan 7 (NationPress) In a horrifying incident, a six-year-old girl was tragically murdered, reportedly due to a grudge against her mother in Nellarahalli, close to the Whitefield area here.

The victim has been identified as Shahajan Khatoon.

Authorities report that Shahjan's mother had recently had a dispute with neighbors. It is alleged that the suspect killed the girl and abandoned her body in a gutter.

The child was reportedly strangled using a rope.

Her father, Inzamul Sheikh, filed a missing persons report with the police after she disappeared from their home.

DCP (Whitefield) Saidulu Adavath stated that the girl was reported missing from her residence.

"After reviewing CCTV footage and collecting other information, we determined that the victim had left with a known individual. It was later confirmed that she had gone with a neighbor," he explained.

Extensive search operations were conducted by police teams in the vicinity for the missing girl. Around midnight, officers discovered a gunny bag containing belongings. Upon opening it, they found the girl's body inside. The remains were sent to Vaidehi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

"We have identified the suspects and are pursuing leads in this case. Special teams have been formed and dispatched in various directions to track down the accused. A thorough investigation is in progress," the DCP added.

No external injuries were detected on the child's body. Preliminary investigations indicate that she was strangled with a plastic wire. The definitive cause of death will be determined following the post-mortem report.

During interviews, locals informed police that two days prior to the incident, the victim's mother had an altercation with the suspected individuals, leading to existing animosity.

Authorities believe that this dispute may have precipitated the murder.

In a separate incident, the bodies of a mother and her two children were found in a water sump in Singanahalli village, located in the Tumakuru district of Karnataka. The deceased were identified as Vijayalakshmi along with her two children, Chetan and Chaitanya, according to police reports.

Initial findings suggest that the mother may have taken her own life along with her children due to psychological distress.

Police reveal that Vijayalakshmi's husband, Sampath, who works in a private factory, returned home on Tuesday night to find his wife and children missing, prompting him to search for them.

When they were not located, he notified his parents and stood outside their residence. At that moment, he discovered that the water sump was open. Peering inside, he saw the three bodies.

Sampath lived with his wife Vijayalakshmi, their children, and his parents, Hanumantharaju and Renukamma. While Sampath and his mother went to work, Vijayalakshmi remained home, caring for her father-in-law and the children.

Police from Kyathsandra visited the scene for an investigation. While initial indications point to Vijayalakshmi ending her life due to mental distress, the deaths of the two children have raised concerns among investigators.

A further inquiry is ongoing based on a complaint filed by the deceased woman's brother.

Point of View
