Kolkata, Nov 11 (NationPress) The leadership of the Trinamool Congress has called for the resignation of Union Home Minister Amit Shah following the tragic car explosion that occurred near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station on Monday, which resulted in the deaths of 8 individuals and left many others injured, some critically.
In a statement, Abhishek Banerjee, general secretary of the Trinamool Congress and a member of the Lok Sabha, urged for a court-monitored investigation into the incident by a special investigation team. Furthermore, West Bengal Minister for Women and Child Development & Social Welfare, Dr. Shashi Panja, along with Partha Bhowmik, the party's Lok Sabha member from Barrackpore, addressed the media, reiterating their demand for Amit Shah’s resignation.
Panja and Bhowmik also directed their criticism towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding his two-day trip to Bhutan. Panja remarked, “In response to the Khagragarh explosion in East Burdwan in 2014, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee promptly visited the site. However, during this crisis, the Prime Minister has opted to travel abroad.”
She emphasized that despite numerous terror attacks in India, from the Udhampur Army convoy attack in 2015 to the recent explosion in Delhi, the BJP has focused on fostering division among communities rather than ensuring safety.
Bhowmik expressed concerns that the ongoing terror attacks might be exploited politically by the BJP. “If the terror camps in Pakistan were dismantled through 'Operation Sindoor', how could such an explosion occur in Delhi? We fear that the BJP may use these incidents to create an atmosphere of conflict for political gain,” he stated.
