Washington, Dec 13 (NationPress) US President Donald Trump asserted that his administration has significantly reduced drug trafficking into the United States, cautioning that those accountable may encounter military-style operations, including land-based strikes.

“We have eliminated 96 percent of the drugs entering by water,” Trump stated at the White House. “Every boat that gets intercepted saves 25,000 American lives.”

Trump mentioned that enforcement efforts are extending beyond maritime channels. “Now we’re starting on land, which is considerably easier,” he noted.

When questioned specifically about Venezuela, Trump refrained from providing operational specifics but expanded on the potential scope of action. “It’s not just land strikes on Venezuela,” he remarked. “It’s land strikes against the terrible individuals who are importing drugs and harming our citizens.”

Characterizing drug trafficking as a national security emergency, Trump emphasized that the human cost is comparable to that of war. “If we were in a conflict and lost 300,000 lives in a year… that’s the actual figure,” he stated.

Trump asserted that the situation at the US border has dramatically changed. “A year and a half ago, millions were crossing over,” he said. “Now we have virtually no one entering through our border.”

“We are a strong nation,” Trump continued. “We have a country that is respected.”

The President also criticized Colombia, claiming, “Colombia has at least three cocaine factories,” while stating that drug trafficking routes by sea have mostly vanished. “You don’t even see fishing vessels on the water,” he commented.

Trump chose not to detail specific military strategies, saying, “I don’t want to disclose that now,” but reiterated that traffickers are legitimate targets. “Individuals who are transporting drugs into our nation are targets,” he affirmed.

He insisted that decisive action is crucial for safeguarding American families. “We will not permit people to kill 300,000 individuals every year with drugs,” Trump declared.

The United States has historically integrated law enforcement, military support, and international collaboration to tackle drug trafficking throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
