Known as Devbhoomi (the land of Gods), Uttarakhand was established from Uttar Pradesh on November 9, 2000, becoming the 27th state in India.
This day symbolizes its evolution from a grassroots movement to a benchmark of balanced development, faith, and modernity.
In a video message, CM Dhami expressed, "It fills us with pride that in the past 25 years, Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has reached new heights in development and made significant advancements in health, education, tourism, culture, environmental protection, and employment, which we have all witnessed firsthand."
He acknowledged the citizens and countless protestors who fought for Uttarakhand's formation, attributing the state's achievements over the last quarter-century to their dedication.
"Our heritage, culture, language, and our diligent, god-like populace have consistently demonstrated that Uttarakhand is a realm of boundless potential. Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is renowned as both the land of liberation and the land of wisdom," he further stated.
"On this silver jubilee anniversary, let us unite in our commitment to transform Devbhoomi Uttarakhand into a harmonious, strong, and self-reliant state, establishing it as a leading and highly regarded state in the nation," CM Dhami added.
Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Dehradun on Sunday to partake in the Silver Jubilee festivities and to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various developmental initiatives valued at over Rs 8,140 crore. This includes the inauguration of projects valued at more than Rs 930 crore and the initiation of projects worth over Rs 7,210 crore.
