Mumbai, June 19 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Uma Thurman admitted that the thought of eating while filming still makes her feel uneasy.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Thurman explained: "Firstly, you have to do numerous takes. Secondly, the menu isn’t your choice, and you often need to talk while swallowing, which raises the concern of choking because you don’t want to be chewing when delivering that line.”
At the age of 55, the actress uncovered her anxiety after completing a DSM assessment, which highlighted this particular issue.
She shared: “Did you know that eating in front of others is one of the questions on the DSM? It’s a checklist that psychiatrists use to identify your neuroses.”
Despite feeling that she is “just fine” after the assessment, she acknowledged her nervousness about eating during scenes.
Nonetheless, she believes that a "good eating scene" is something she still aspires to perfect on screen, as reported by femalefirst.co.uk.
Thurman stated: “A successful eating scene should definitely be on my bucket list of things I haven't yet accomplished. It's similar to skinny-dipping, one of those experiences you know you haven't tried.”
Even with a robust filmography that spans decades and multiple directors in Hollywood, Thurman previously expressed feeling "very nervous" about her part in the 2024 drama Oh, Canada!
During a Q+A at the New York Film Festival in 2024, she remarked: “I mean, Paul Schrader! I’m a huge admirer of his work. Contributing to his project and witnessing him in action was a tremendous privilege. Meeting him was nerve-wracking, especially considering he’s this iconic filmmaker known for his legendary films.”
