Amaravati, Nov 30 (NationPress) State Minister Nara Lokesh announced the swift development of world-class underground power infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh’s capital, Amaravati, on Sunday.
The Minister for Human Resources Development, Information Technology, and Real-Time Governance emphasized that Amaravati is evolving with superior infrastructure.
Lokesh shared a video on ‘X’ showcasing the ongoing construction in Amaravati: “Here’s a sneak peek at Amaravati’s world-class underground power infrastructure progressing rapidly. Transitioning high-tension power lines underground boosts reliability, safety, and the visual charm of our People’s Capital—crafted for durability and future demands. Amaravati is advancing with top-notch infrastructure!” he wrote.
The underground power infrastructure is integral to the major projects initiated as part of the capital development.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu mentioned on Friday that the capital's development is progressing well and expressed confidence that the projects will be finalized by March 2028.
He asserted that Amaravati will be constructed in a manner that will make India proud. This declaration was made during an event where Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman initiated the groundwork for the regional headquarters of public sector banks and insurance firms.
Following Prime Minister Modi’s re-launch of Amaravati projects in May of this year, the state government commenced initiatives worth Rs 56,000 crore.
CM Naidu informed that the Seed Access Road is nearing completion, with seven national highways connecting to Amaravati. A railway line is also being established in the Amaravati region.
On Friday, the state Cabinet approved the second phase of land pooling in Amaravati.
This phase will facilitate the acquisition of 16,666 acres of land across seven mandals within the Amaravati capital region.
The Cabinet authorized the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) Commissioner to commence a land pooling initiative in seven villages: Vaikuntapuram, Pedda Maddur, Endrai, Karlapudi, Vaddamanu, Harischandrapuram, and Peddaparimi.
The Chief Minister previously stated that the current footprint of 29 villages is insufficient to establish a metropolitan entity comparable to Hyderabad.
The government plans to acquire 30,000 acres across 11 villages for various developments, including an international airport.
The state has already secured 34,000 acres through land pooling for ongoing capital development, with an additional 16,000 acres obtained from endowment, forest, waqf, and other land sources, bringing Amaravati’s total area to 50,000 acres.
