Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Greenlights Additional Infrastructure Projects in Amaravati

Amaravati, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday, sanctioned additional infrastructure initiatives totaling Rs 2,723 crore for the state capital Amaravati.

He chaired the 44th meeting of the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), during which several pivotal decisions were made regarding capital development.

The Chief Minister instructed the Andhra Pradesh Township And Infrastructure Development Corporation (APTIDCO) to ensure the completion of 1.18 lakh houses by June 12, 2025.

CM Naidu also assessed the progress of the Amaravati Outer Ring Road and Vijayawada Bypass Road.

Last week, an approval was granted for projects worth Rs 24,276 crore in the greenfield capital, focusing on trunk roads, layouts, and iconic structures.

Since the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government took office in June, the CRDA has sanctioned infrastructure projects totaling Rs 47,972 crore in the capital region.

The government aims to finalize the construction of Amaravati capital within the next three years, aspiring for it to be among the top five cities globally.

State Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MAUD), P. Narayana, indicated post-CRDA meeting last week that the assembly building is set to be constructed over an area of 103 acres, covering 11.2 lakh square feet and rising to a height of 250 meters.

The minister revealed that the building will be designed to allow public access to the top for a panoramic view of the capital when the assembly is not in session.

The High Court will be established on 42 acres with a budget of Rs 1,048 crore, featuring an eight-storey edifice reaching a height of 55 meters.

Narayana also mentioned that the General Administration Department building will comprise 47 floors with a total area of 17 lakh square feet.

He further stated that the tendering process would be expedited to conclude as much as possible by the end of December, with the remaining processes wrapped up by January.
