Dehradun, July 5 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami, ventured into the fields on Saturday, engaging with local farmers in the planting of paddy saplings. This hands-on experience in Khatima stirred memories for the CM, who described it as a ‘revival of old memories’.
During this event, CM Dhami paid homage to the unwavering dedication, sacrifices, and hard work of farmers, asserting, “Farmers are not just the backbone of our economy; they are also the custodians of our culture and traditions.”
On this occasion, the Chief Minister offered prayers to God through the rich cultural heritage of Uttarakhand’s Hudkiya Baul tradition.
“The farmers of our state have always served this sacred land with relentless efforts. Maintaining a connection to one's roots nurtures a sense of identity and existence,” he remarked.
This heartfelt action by CM Dhami serves as an inspiration for the preservation of Uttarakhand’s rural culture and emphasizes the significance of farmers and traditional folk arts.
Committed to promoting a green and clean environment, the Chief Minister has consistently supported initiatives aimed at this goal.
Last month, he planted a Sita Ashoka sapling at his official residence to commemorate World Environment Day, as part of the initiative titled ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.
He urged the public to partake in this initiative, encouraging everyone to plant at least one tree to safeguard the environment.
“Protecting nature and the environment is both our cultural heritage and our responsibility. Under the esteemed leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam campaign has been launched to foster environmental conservation,” Dhami expressed in a post on X.
