Dehradun, June 19 (NationPress) In preparation for the upcoming International Day of Yoga on Saturday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conducted a yoga session at his residence on Thursday, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiatives to enhance global yoga awareness.
On X, CM Dhami remarked, “Guided by the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodiji, our administration is undertaking remarkable efforts to promote yoga extensively. Yoga events are being organized in every district of our state, attracting a vast number of local participants.”
“We have sanctioned a new yoga policy in Uttarakhand, which is expected to generate approximately 13,000 new jobs. I urge all residents to incorporate yoga into their daily lives, contributing proactively to the creation of a healthy, conscious, and developed nation,” he stated.
CM Dhami’s office shared on X, “The Chief Minister practiced yoga alongside officials and staff at the camp office. Yoga transcends mere physical exercise; it is a profound journey towards inner peace and self-awareness. It calms the mind and serves as a pathway to explore the depths of consciousness.”

CM Dhami mentioned that in 2014, PM Modi proposed at the United Nations General Assembly to recognize June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, a motion supported by 177 countries.
Describing Uttarakhand as the home of sages and ascetics, CM Dhami indicated that government efforts have been aimed at connecting everyone with yoga at the village level.
