New Delhi, Sep 15 (NationPress) In a sincere homage to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remarkable work ethic and commitment, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared a personal story on Monday that made a significant impact on him.
Posting on social media platform X under the 'MyModiStory' initiative, Dhami recounted a noteworthy evening in Varanasi that he believes epitomizes “true leadership.”
“I have had the honor of closely observing the working style of the esteemed Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji. Each interaction with him imparts valuable lessons in discipline, dedication, and patriotism,” Dhami stated in a video post.
He then shared an incident following a late-night meeting of BJP-led state chief ministers in Varanasi.
“The meeting wrapped up around 1 a.m. Everyone was fatigued and eager to rest. Then the Prime Minister smiled and said, ‘There is still one crucial task left.’ We exchanged surprised glances—what else could possibly remain at such a late hour?”
PM Modi explained that he avoids daytime inspections in Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency, to minimize disturbance to the local populace.
“He casually mentioned that inspections during the day in my Lok Sabha constituency inconvenience the people. Therefore, I will conduct site visits at night,” Dhami recounted.
The inspection extended for several hours—until 4 a.m.—but the following morning at 9, PM Modi was back in the meeting, rejuvenated and focused.
“The most incredible aspect of the story is that the next morning at 9 a.m., as soon as the meeting commenced, he was present—full of energy, with the same sharp gaze and unwavering focus. It was as if he hadn’t slept at all but had drawn strength from serving the nation. Seeing him inspired a singular thought among us all—this is true leadership,” he added.
CM Dhami remarked that PM Modi leads by example.
“He doesn’t just preach; he embodies it. His life illustrates that true leadership signifies discipline, commitment, and service to the nation,” he elaborated.
Prime Minister Modi’s birthday is celebrated annually on September 17. Born in 1950 in Vadnagar, a small town in Gujarat’s Mehsana district, he is the third child of Damodardas and Hiraben Modi.
The BJP and its supporters recognize this day as Sewa Diwas (Day of Service), filled with community-oriented events such as cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, and health check-ups.
This year, the BJP will initiate a nationwide Sewa Pakhwada (Fortnight of Service) from September 17 to October 2, coinciding with the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.
As part of this initiative, diverse activities will be organized, including environmental campaigns, sports festivals, distribution of assistive devices for the differently-abled, drawing competitions, and the ‘Modi Vikas Marathon’. Party leaders assert that the aim is to promote the Prime Minister’s vision of a clean, healthy, and inclusive India—through action, not mere rhetoric.
